| Battlefields, antibellum mansions, Mint Juleps and the Mighty Mississippi! It wasn't hard for me (Wild Bear Hiccup) and my friends Shining Heart and Spirit to get lost in the history of this place! Imagine a lazy ride down the Ol' Miss in a steamboat; battlefields so quiet that you can almost hear the cannons echo back across the years; plantations that have stoically stood as history marched by, quietly attesting to a way of life that is gone forever (I bet you thought I was gonna say "Gone with the Wind"). |

| Shining Heart made a new friend (Scarlett O'Bear) at Tara. This house is in Vicksburg and was built to look just like Tara in the movie "Gone With The Wind." After a wonderful tour of the house, we had a chance to visit with Scarlett in the beautiful gardens out back. The birds were singing, the scent of the flowers perfumed the air and a slight breeze kept us cool and comfey as we visited and sipped on our Mint Juleps! Talk about Southern Hospitality! |

| Outside of Natchez we came across the Ruins of Windsor. It cost over one million dollars to build back in the 1800's and was destroyed by a terrible fire. All that was left after the fire were these huge columns. The reason it is called the Ruins of Windsor is because of the errie sound that the wind makes as it blows through the columns. |
