Recommended Books (etc.)

There are some really outstanding books (and even some movies) that are available dealing with ghosts. These are some of the ones that I have read and can recommend:

If you only read one ghost book, make it "The Ghost of Flight 401" by John G. Fuller.
This book is the true story of the crash of Eastern Airlines flight 401 in the Everglades (December, 1972) and the ghosts (the Pilot and the Flight Engineer) that came from it. It is easily the best book on ghosts that I have ever read. If you want to really understand the ghost phenomena, locate it and read it! Unfortunately, the book is now out of print. It was published by Berkley as a Berkley Medallion Book. It was available in paperback. The copyright on it is 1976... I have the 1978 edition (price at that time was $2.25!!!!).

Another excellent book is "My Search for the Ghost of Flight 401" by Elizabeth Fuller.
Elizabeth was a stewardess that John Fuller met while researching "The Ghost of Flight 401." She joined in with the search, they fell in love and ended up getting married. This book is the story of her part in the research. Unfortunately, it is also out of print. It was published in December of 1978 (also by Berkley).

These are really good books filled with lots of stories. The stories are true and seem to be well researched.

If you are really interested in understanding more about ghosts, studying the phenomena of Near Death Experiences can add depth to your studies and research. It is one of the few things that can give us a glimpse into the process that gives birth to ghosts.

I also found that reading some of the books by and about well known Mediums (people who reportedly speak to those that have passed on) has been very enlightening and adds another dimension (pun only partially intended *grin*) to the ghost phenomena. The spirits they communicate with are NOT ghosts but some of them do explain what they believe happens to cause a spirit to spend time in the ghostly realm.

I have not liked or agreed with all of the authors that I have read, but the following books are ones that I highly recommend.

NOTE: I attended one of George Anderson's group sessions back in the
mid 90's and was very impressed with what I witnessed.

Here are a couple of movies that are wonderful and shed some insight into ghosts!


The Sixth Sense VHS	The Sixth Sense DVD	Ghost VHS
The ghosts in this movie are basically sticking around for a reason, as if each of them has something they need to take care of before they can move on. It also addresses the idea that some of the ghosts don't realize that they are dead.		This movie has long been considered one of the most accurate portrayals of ghosts.

Another good (though a bit unexpected) resource is the Travel Channel (cable and satellite)!! They have some very interesting shows on Haunted: Houses, Lighthouses, Castles, Bed and Breakfasts and who knows what else! I have happened onto some really good and fascinating shows!
