The Mother-In-Law Ghost
It's been over 29 years since my ghost story happened but it still feels like yesterday. I was married to my first husband, Tom, when his mom died of a heatattack at the age of 42. Our son Paul was just 4 months old when she died. He became ill right after she was gone and we found out that he also had heart problems and and needed a operation. That's when it started.
It was such a shock to see a floating mist coming down the hall and going into my son's room. It would be a short time later that he would wake up crying. To say I was scared to go into the room was putting it mildy. After that things got worst. Doors would slam, lamps broken and clothes thrown all over the place. The Landlady lived down stairs and complained about the loud noises when we weren't home so I had to tell her what was happening. The voices at night in the kitchen off our bedroom kept me up most nights but the 2 times my Mother-law touched her hand on mine were the worst.
I can't describe the feeling when you know a hand is on your hand and there is no one there that you can see. We we too afraid to tell anyone what was going on as they would think us crazy. Remember this was in the early 70's. We stayed there till my son had his operation he was 6 months old then. After his recovery his Grandmother left but not the friends she had brought with her. They didn't go till we moved.
The last night we were there I had my parents for dinner. MY mother was
facing the kitchen and saw a man standing in the doorway. She didn't want to
alarm me on what she saw because he faded away. But that last night in bed I felt
like I was being watched and when I opened my eyes there he was standing in the doorway of
the bedroom. I can still see him clearly. He was bald , had a suit with vest . As I
stared at him in shock he faded away. The next day we move to a new place. I went back for
a couple of visits after that but they were all gone. No more cold spots or noises. Anyone
that says there are no ghosts are living in a dream world. I will always be a
believer.
