A Ghostly Close Encounter

This story happened in Ft. Hood TX. where I was stationed in the military. It happened in 1995. I owned a ouija board back then, needless to say I don't have one anymore and would recommend that no one should own one or use one unsupervised. I kept it in a combination desk cabinet next to my bed in our barracks.

One night I had had a lot of trouble going to sleep and pretty much just laid in bed hoping to eventually fall asleep. At about 4:00 a.m. I got this strange feeling that I was being watched. At the time my eyes were closed and I just kind of blinked them open for a second and closed them again. I sat there for a second and I thought "Did I just see what I thought I saw?" so I open my eyes and sure enough right at the foot of my bed clearly visible was a ghost. It was staring right at me. It's a little hard to describe, but I will try. It was female and from head to toe bathed in a blood red light. She seemed extremely emancipated and had a shroud covering her from shoulder to toe. Her head was wrapped very much like a mummy and she had two pin point laser red dots for eyes.

I was in the army for seven years and am a Gulf War vet. I don't scare easily. We stared at each other for about 5 second and I can honestly say that that is the first and last time I will probably ever see a ghost flinch in shock after she seemed to realize that I was staring back at her. We reacted at the same time. She shot out toward the door of my room (the veiw of the door itself was block by my wall locker so I lost track of her as she past behind it) as I shot up and out of my bed to give chase. I did'nt sleep at all that whole night and never saw her again.

It's kind of funny because I never felt afraid so I don't think she was harmful and I honestly feel to this day that we somehow communicated to each other. Kind of like making eye contact with someone you think you know and then losing them in the crowd. I have a feeling that someday, probably after I pass on, that I will see her again.
